outrunning the pain
So - after this limping business I took a total break of two weeks. Then I started running again, very little at a time, stretching before, during, and after a run. I think for a while I spent more time stretching and icing than running, but I gradually increased the mileage, trying to keep ahead of the pain. Not running at all wasn't a palatable option - I was already signed up for the next race. The San Francisco marathon on July 29th.
