a look at the past
Flying out to the East Coast again. This time it's for closure, and presumably it will be less stressful than in April. My boyfriend made sure to get reservations at a hotel with a pool. For cross-training, he said.
I am not taking my running gear, since we already have too much luggage. I will not miss the small runs, and I won't have time for a big run. We are staying an extra couple of days, to meet with our friends and take a look at our former life, since we will have no reason to go there again.
Not unless I find a New York agent for my book(s) and have to go there on business - for book signings and publicity, he, he.
A girl can dream.

Dream big Lia! You write so beautifully, I'm sure those dreams will come true.
We want personalized signings of your book Lia! What say we just meet at a marathon in a city to be determined later?
Dreams come true!
It will happen! :)
wear your running clothes on the way so you have to pack it. you have to dream of it first, then it will happen.
You just never can tell...
You kids have fun out there. I hope your dreams come true. (Mine too.)
It will happen for you!!! We are all sure of it :).
So have you stopped smoking yet? You knew that was coming right?!?!!
Can I request a signed/numbered one as well.
Have a good trip..
I'm sure you'll get published one day. You have such a natural way with words.
And we will (are) your biggest fans!
I can't remember if I left a comment (I've been away for so long)--but congrats on your marathon. You did very well!
Yes, that would be wonderful. It's good to dream big.
Have a good trip. :)
marathon #2!(I'm a little behind in my comments:)) Each marathon is different, crossing the finish line is different for each person. Not everyone gets an incredible high or feel elated. Feel something, feel nothing, cry, don't cry, you finished your first marathon, drink that thought in. Now you are on your way to number 2. And the book, you can make it happen. You made the marathon happen!
Please save a book with your signature for me!Have a good trip.
Waiting for your books (at plural) :))
*frowny face*
I'm so going to want to read your book. But something in your last few posts makes me sad - it sounds like you're leaving running.
It was my experience after my first marathon (and the months-long recovery) that keeping up the habit of running was almost as hard as getting into it. The big motivation is gone...and it is time to turn to different motivations. Perhaps go the zen route and aim for a perfectly level, perfectly consistent running pattern, maybe 3 days per week of 4-4-10, or something. Consistency outside of training schedules is at least as big a challenge as finishing a marathon.
I'm also sad you won't be coming back to NY. Are you sure you don't want to come to our fabulous half-marathons? I highly recommend Staten Island in October.
Never stop dreaming!!
I was at the Printers Row Book Sale yesterday in Chicago. Lots of new authors there, talking up their books. Here's to the day I'll see you there behind one of those tables!!
Have a fun and safe trip!
You will...keep up the hard work!
Have a great trip!
Good luck on finding the right publisher. I'm sure you will!
Enjoy the cross-training! :)
